where we are goingThe gathering is a grassroots movement designed to reach and teach people to unlock their personal God-given potential. We know that there are many people who are burned out on church, had a bad experience in the past, or have some other reason that keeps them from attending. So, rather than invite people to church, the gathering seeks to create small groups of people from all stages of their life journey and allow them to share their experiences and get feedback and support from fellow journeymen. These groups are lead by a facilitator who helps guide the conversation and raise important questions. The facilitator also brings a challenge or word of encouragement from the Bible, which we believe to be our ultimate source of authority. Our future plans include planting 6 groups in varying locations in the North Fort Worth area by the end of 2009. We are also looking to have a gathering of the groups once a month, for the purpose of focusing our vision, sharing testimony and the privilege of worshipping our God together. |
